The Adoration of the Magi (Arena chapel)

The Adoration of the Magi (Arena chapel)
Giotto ca. 1267 – 1337
fresco (200 × 185 cm) — 1304-1306

Matthew 2:11 - And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

One of Giotto's frescoes from his series on the life and passion of Jesus, in the Arena Chapel in Padua.

The comet in the sky is probably Halley's Comet. Giotto may have seen it when it passed Earth in 1301.
