The Adoration of the Magi (London) (1564)

The Adoration of the Magi (London) (1564)
Pieter Bruegel the Elder ca. 1520 – 1569
oil on canvas (112 × 84 cm) — 1564
Matthew 2:11 - And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.
The influence of Bosch is clearly seen in this work by Bruegel, in particular in the faces of the almost cartoonesk figures.
